For those unfamiliar, Tailor Made is a unique program from Dell which has been designed to help channel partners sell Dell’s shortest lead time configurations at the best price.

Your blueprint for success

With the Tailor Made program, channel partners have access to 32 base configurations, each customizable with virtually unlimited upgrades and discounts applied across all components. This diverse server portfolio is applicable across multiple workloads, including file and print, virtualization, cloud and web hosting, VDI, high density computing, and traditional datacenter workloads.

There’s no need for registration to get a quick quote from Tailor Made; however, dealer registration may provide incremental pricing and incentive benefits.

How does the Tailor Made program work?

Tailor Made is specially configured to take the complexity out of purchasing large quantities of technology. This is accomplished via Dell’s Solutions Configurator (DSC) which makes ordering products quick and easy:

Step 1: Find the server configuration from the Dell Solutions Configurator that best meets your customer’s needs.

Step 2: Note any changes or upgrades needed. Configurations can be upgraded with exception of the chassis and processor.

Step 3: Send the request with the appropriate order Dell Order Code (DSC solution IDs encouraged) to your sales representative.

Step 4: Receive your quote and sell Dell.

When you use the Dell Technologies Tailor Made Program, you will rely heavily on the Dell Solutions Configurator. This program ensures the technology you are ordering is configured and customized in the factory. 

Prior to shipping the new systems, Dell will load / customize settings, and install any third-party software or hardware that your customers need. This way, the technology you deliver is ready to go, with minimal to no further customization required.

·       Connected Provisioning: Dell Connected Provisioning delivers pre-configured, ready to work devices faster and easier.

·       Connected Configuration: Configuration management from one central location for all ordered solutions simplifies version control and enables real-time change control, too.

How does Tailor Made compare to alternative programs?

There are other options on the market, of course, but they tend to lead with stocked products which can introduce complications to the ordering process; that is, once a product is selected, any upgrades a customer needs must be installed afterwards. 

Prices tend to be less friendly, too. The discount becomes less the more customization you need to add to the servers. As a result, pricing attractiveness tends to be reduced with every upgrade a client needs.
