At Dell Technologies, they are committed to driving human progress and leading in environmental, social, and corporate governance. Through their reach, technology, and people, they strive to create a positive and lasting impact by advancing sustainability, cultivating inclusion, and transforming lives around the world. Foundational to their ability to drive meaningful impact is an enduring commitment to upholding ethics and privacy.

In June 2019, they made a public commitment to achieve ambitious, measurable goals around sustainability, diversity, and inclusion, and transforming lives by 2030 in their Progress Made Real social impact campaign. Each year in an annual Progress Made Real update report, they demonstrate their actions on these goals to show how they're making progress real for 2030 and beyond.

These core social impact commitments and goals are Progress Made Real

Advancing Sustainability - Their 2030 goals will help them reduce their environmental impact while driving even better conditions for those who make their products. They will collaborate across their value chain to drive circularity and to tackle climate change en route to their net zero goal.

The goal: By 2030, for every product a customer buys, Dell will reuse or recycle an equivalent product. 100 percent of their packaging will be made from recycled or renewable material. More than half of all product content will be made from recycled or renewable material.

Cultivating Inclusion- Their successful future will be built on attracting and developing diverse talent while building on their inclusive culture. They will address inequities, create opportunities, and continue to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce and culture. They will partner with their communities on programs that attract and expand the potential pool of talent for their future.

The goal: By 2030, 50% of Dell’s global workforce and 40% of Dell’s global people leaders will be those who identify as women. 25% of our U.S. workforce and 15% of our U.S. people leaders will be those who identify as Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino minorities.

Transforming Lives - By harnessing their scale, their partnerships, and their technology portfolio, they can enable a future that realizes the potential embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015. By providing their expertise and support, they can drive better health, improve education, and grow opportunities in the digital economy for underrepresented groups.

The goal: With their technology and scale, they will advance health, education, and economic opportunity initiatives to deliver enduring results for 1 billion people by 2030.

Upholding Ethics & Privacy - Ethics and privacy play a critical role in establishing a strong foundation for positive social impact.  In this time of rapid innovation, big data, an evolving regulatory environment and increasing expectations from Dell Technologies’ customers, partners, team members and communities, they are committed to continuing to lead in ethics and privacy.

The goal: By 2030, Dell will fully automate their data control processes, making it easier for their customers to control their personal data.

You are judged by the company you keep

Based on input from customers, partners, and investors it was evident that most, if not all of them wanted to do business only with companies that had a high regard and an unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility. Dell Technologies has embraced these high expectations and committed the full scope of resources to deliver on them. In this regard, partners can have the utmost confidence that the products and solutions that they represent to shared customers have been built by a company that is totally dedicated to a long-term commitment to social responsibility of the highest order.
