Remote fleet management is a vital tool for modern organizations. That’s especially true in this age of hybrid work environments.
But software-based solutions aren’t comprehensive enough for many modern enterprises. And deploying silicon-based solutions has often posed challenges for IT teams. Until now.
Intel just announced that their vaunted vPro Fleet Services management platform is available as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution via Microsoft Intune. With it, your customers can remotely monitor, secure, and push updates to every vPro-enabled computer in their fleet, whether those devices are on-premises, remote, or even turned off.
And unlike previous iterations, deploying vPro Fleet Services through Intune means your customers don’t need to set up self-hosted fleet management software and servers. That can save them substantial time and money.
vPro is available on Intel Core Ultra and Intel Core business PCs and is capable of scaling to hundreds or thousands of devices.
A better mouse trap, and not a moment too soon
Senior director of Commercial Client Platforms and Software Products, Novin Kaihani, calls this “the biggest change to Intel vPro in its 20-year history.” Overhauling the complete software package created a simpler, faster, and cloud-connected vPro experience.
The final step was offering Intel vPro Fleet Services directly through the Microsoft Intune partner portal. This marks the first time a silicon-based fleet management platform has been integrated with Intune. The result finally bridges the gap between physical hardware and industry-standard cloud-based tools.
Learning from the CrowdStrike disaster
Many organizations learned about the importance of remote fleet management the hard way when the massive CrowdStrike outage hit in 2024. The crisis affected a staggering cross-section of organizations, including airports, hyperscalers, and hospitals.
What many of them now know is that they need the ability to update their entire device fleet remotely. During the CrowdStrike outage, IT teams around the world had to manually remove corrupt files from hard-to-reach devices. In some cases, this process took weeks and cost them vital time and money.
Simplify to thrive
AI is rapidly changing the world, and IT management is more complex than ever. At the same time, your customers are trying to navigate an unpredictable economy and a constantly shifting marketplace. So anything that helps them simplify can translate to lower costs and shorter product development cycles.
Intel vPro Fleet Services empowers your customers to accomplish more with their existing IT staff. It’s an easy-to-use solution with a simpler activation process and ongoing fleet control.
