Dell EMC VxRail Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) was introduced six years ago. Since then, this solution has helped customers reinvent IT and address complexity by reducing infrastructure silos.

Today, businesses are looking for ways to further simplify their infrastructure, scale when and where they need to, and address more workloads with the same operational models. And they want to achieve all of this while simultaneously adopting next generation technologies.

Of course, not all workloads scale symmetrically. What’s more, many have different requirements of compute and storage. Some may grow compute at a greater rate, while others may require storage at a greater rate. Some businesses may need the power and value of an external storage array, while others might seek specific optimized data services.

To address this workload issue and scale IT infrastructure with more flexible storage options, Dell Technologies has introduced the all-new Dell EMC VxRail dynamic node solution.

A flexible solution

These dynamic nodes integrate into the VxRail solution and are outfitted with the full complement of VxRail HCI System Software as well as the lifecycle management a customer would expect, but with one big difference — they are designed to utilize shared storage.

You see, by adding Dell EMC VxRail dynamic nodes and combining them with VMware HCI Mesh technology or external storage arrays (like Dell EMC PowerStore, PowerMax, and Unity XT), customers can address new workloads and scale as needed, and they can do so without changing the HCI operational model in place.

This gives them the ability to:

Share vSAN between VxRail or VCF on VxRail clusters

Attach external storage to VCF on VxRail workload domains with clusters of dynamic nodes

Discreetly add resources that help grow a business, while scaling compute and storage resources separately

A consistent operating experience

Dell EMC VxRail dynamic nodes provide a consistent operating experience and deep VMware integration for a seamless HCI experience. They’re designed to afford your customers the ability to automate day-to-day tasks and lifecycle management which, in turn, frees them to focus on their business.

Help your customers begin to reimagine what their IT operations and business opportunities could look like with VxRail as the technology continues to evolve.
