Dell Technologies launched its 2023 Partner Program with a Powering Progress Together campaign, which provides partners with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) resources and tools to help them drive societal and environmental impact. ESG topics have become a significant driver of business decisions, including purchasing IT hardware, software and support. As more customers demand ESG credibility and transparency from their chosen tech providers, Dell is helping partners gain knowledge and meet the sustainability demands of their customers.

Many technology-focused businesses are grappling with questions about prioritizing sustainability while maintaining profitability and growth. To answer these questions, Dell provides enablement tools to help partners understand how to integrate ESG topics into customer conversations. New resources, including Partner Academy ESG training and common value templates, can help partners drive thought leadership conversations and connect with customers on a deeper level.

Prioritizing ESG issues

In support of a circular economy, Dell has also introduced incentive-based programs like a 7% rebate now available to Asset Recovery Services, which helps customers responsibly and securely retire legacy IT equipment. Asset Recovery Services cover both client and server products of any brand and complement Dell’s existing Tech Refresh and Data Sanitation and Data Destruction for Enterprise Services programs.

Dell APEX enables partners to provide their customers with the IT resources they need while fully utilizing Dell equipment and minimizing energy waste. A single and harmonized APEX+ category for all incentive-eligible Dell APEX solutions now includes Dell APEX Flex on Demand in addition to Dell APEX outcome-based offers. Rebates and earned MDF are available across the full category.

Dell values partnerships and wants to highlight partners who execute co-branded initiatives aligned with Dell Technologies' ESG pillars and priorities. The new ESG Partner Spotlight will recognize seven Metal Tier partners quarterly. You can read about qualifications and get more details here.

Through the Dell ESG Portal, Dell Partners have access to a variety of ESG and sustainability resources, including:

-     The Dell Sales Enablement Center

-     The Dell Marketing Demand Generation page

-     Simplified playbooks such as the new Asset Recovery Services Playbook and Sustainability Core Client Playbooks

-     Customer webinars about Dell products and solutions that promote sustainable IT

-     A Women Partner Network (WPN) membership that promotes diversity and inclusion

-     Available partner programs to help transform lives through digital inclusion

Looking to the future

Dell Technologies is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3 by 2050. Their 2030 climate targets cover the Dell Technologies organization, supply chain and customers, forming a value chain with a shared sense of corporate responsibility.

In the coming years, Dell intends to:

-     Reduce scopes 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030

-     Source 75% of electricity from renewable sources across all Dell Technologies facilities by 2030 — and 100% by 2040

-     Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services by 45% by 2030

-     Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions associated with the use of sold products by 30% by 2030

And Dell’s commitment to the circular economy means reducing waste and emissions by taking back as much as they produce, reusing those products and materials for as long as possible and investing in recycled, renewable and low-carbon materials to reduce reliance on new materials.

For every product a customer buys, one will be reused or recycled by 2030. 100% of Dell’s packaging will be either reused or made from recycled or renewable material by 2030. And more than half of Dell product content will be made from recycled, renewable or reduced carbon emissions material by 2030.

Are you and your customers ready to help protect the planet, promote inclusivity, and use technology for impactful change? By becoming a Dell Partner today, you can significantly progress towards establishing and achieving your own ESG priorities.
